The Jungle Cruise is an attraction located in [[Adventureland]]
==Attraction History==
The Jungle Cruise is a slow moving boat tour located in Adventureland. While on the boat guests will travel through rivers in Asia, Africa and South America. The attraction features dozens of Audio Anamatronic Animals as well as a cast member Skipper. The Jungle Cruise opened with the park in 1971.
The Jungle Cruise was personally developed by Walt and his team of Imagineers for the opening of Disneyland. It was later recreated in Florida for the grand opening of the Magic Kingdom. It was one of three opening day attractions in Adventureland. Walt originally wanted to use live animals for the attraction however that idea was later scratched. Live animals would not be garunteed to stay in designated areas, and practical issues such as eating and sleeping made the idea impractical. Instead of live animals, it was decided that Audio Anamatronics would be more manageable. The decision to switch to Audio Anamatronics allowed the Imagineers to control the scenes making the attraction more predictable. This allowed the Skippers to develop a routine and reuse jokes. Imagineer Marc Davis created jokes within each scene that could be recognized immediately- a necessity when only a short time was given to each individual scene.
==Attraction plot==
The ride's final river is the The Macong River in Cambodia. While on this river the boat travels inside a temple. The boat then moves inside a temple, a departure from the Disneyland version which is all-outdoors. Ruins, treasures, shrines, a white tiger, cobras and monkeys are featured inside the temple.
After the temple the boat passes an is the Indian Elephant bathing pool. The final scene shows Chief Namee who is willing to sell shrunken heads, "two of his for one of yours/"
