Adventureland is a land inside the Magic Kingdom.
History
Adventureland opened in on October 1, 1971 with three attractions, The - the Tropical Serenade, The the Jungle Cruise and the Swiss Family Treehouse, as well as the Safari Arcade (which wound up closing by 1972) . Originally based on the 1950's view of exotic adventure, Adventureland's lush vegetation, tribal music and Pacific architecture gave the land a “jungle like” feel. Change quickly came to  The focal point of Adventureland howeverwas The Sunshine Pavilion, when in 1973 which was sponsored by the Florida Citrus Growers from 1971 until 1986. The pavilion itself was made up of a Balinese pagoda (which marked the entrance of the Tropical Serenade) and the Sunshine Tree Terrace, home of both the Citrus Swirl and the Florida Orange Grower's mascot the Orange Bird. Just outside of the Sunshine Tree Terrace, from 1971 until 2000 guests could find the Sunshine Tree that gave the snack bar its namesake . The original theme of the land was quickly expanded with the addition of "Caribbean Plaza ". The new area opened to guests in 1973 and was built housing to house the popular dark ride Pirates of the Caribbean. Caribbean Plaza expanded Although Disney had initially not planned on building Pirates of the theme Caribbean, guest demand necessitated the quick construction of Adventurelanda copy of the popular Disneyland attraction . Other additions shortly followed, when the House of Treasure shop, the Plaza del sol Caribe and gave the land more Caribbean Arcade opened. . Pirates of the Caribbean eventually opened to guests December 15, 1973 . Besides adding an immensely popular attraction to the land, Caribbean Plaza also gave Adventureland island feel then a jungle oneaesthetics that it did not previously have. Also of note, is the fact that prior to the construction of Caribbean plaza Adventureland and Frontierland did not connect. By extending Adventureland back towards Frontierland, Caribbean plaza allowed guests to travel between the two lands .
More The next major change came to Adventureland in 1991 When did not come until September 1, 1997 when the Tropical Serenade was replaced by closed for an extensive refurbishment . This new section of Adventureland is home to the ride The Magic Carpets of Aladdin. The Magic Carpets of Aladdin is similar to the popular Dumbo attration, in that guests can “fly” on the carpets but with option to choose how high or low they fly. The attraction reopened as Walt Disney's Enchanted Tiki Room on August 15, 2011 . After the success of the Pirates of the Caribbean movie series, pirates have been featured prominently in Adventureland.
