==History==
Adventureland opened on October 1, 1971 with three attractions, the [[Tropical Serenade]], the [[Jungle Cruise]] and the [[Swiss Family Treehouse]] as well as the Safari Arcade (which wound up closing by 1972) <ref> http://www.omniluxe.net/wyw/safari.htm </ref>. Originally based on the 1950's view of exotic adventure <ref> http://www.examiner.com/article/memories-of-the-magic-kingdom-adventureland </ref>, Adventureland's lush vegetation, tribal music and Pacific architecture gave the land a “jungle like” feel.
