The Cool Ship opened in 1994 as a part of the New Tomorrowland. Located near the [[Tomorrowland Speedway]], the Cool Ship is predominantly a refreshment stand. Adorning the top of the drink stand is a red space ship called “Thirst Rangers” (note: this is what also gives the restaurant its name). This ship is actually a Trimaxian Drone Ship from the 1986 Disney film "Flight of the Navigator" <ref>http://www.fromscreentotheme.com/FunFindFridayFlightoftheNavigator.aspx </ref>. In fact, there were two different, identical ships used in Flight of the Navigator, and for a period of time guests could see the other ship on the [[Backlot Tour]] at [[Disney's Hollywood Studios]] <ref>http://www.mainstgazette.com/2012/02/thirst-rangers.html</ref>. Since the time the Cool Ship opened it has not seen any major changes, although in March of 2015 it began to sell turkey legs, which were previously found in [[Frontierland]] <ref> http://www.orlandosentinel.com/travel/attractions/the-daily-disney/os-disney-dole-whip-turkey-legs-moving-story.html </ref>. As of 2018, the Cool Ship now sells churros.
