Electric Umbrella is a counter service restaurant located within [[Innoventions]] in [[Epcot]]

The restaurant that is today known as the Electric Umbrella originally opened as "Stargate " with the rest of EPCOT Center on October 1, 1982 <ref> http://thisdayindisneyhistory.homestead.com/epcotgrandopening.html </ref>. Located in CommuniCore East, the Stargate was a counter service restaurant that served breakfast, lunch and dinner <ref> http://www.imaginerding.com/2012/03/05/stargate-restaurant-at-epcot-center/ </ref>.  On April 10, 1994, Stargate closed for refurbishment as part of CommuniCore's transition to Innoventions <ref name= "jack"> http://land.allears.net/blogs/jackspence/2014/04/march_madness_quiz_answers_1.html </ref>. Following renovations, the dining location reopened on June 24 as the "Electric Umbrella" <ref name= "jack"/>. Although the restaurant was aesthetically updated at this time, it retained the same layout <ref> http://www.omniluxe.net/wyw/cmcr.htm </ref>.
