The carnival style games that would eventually be called the Fossil Fun Games actually opened to guests in DinoLand USA as simply "Midway Games" on March 31November 1, 2002 2001 as a part of the Chester and Hester’s Hester's Dino-Rama expansion. On March 31, 2002 however the area was renamed Fossil Fun Games. The carnival style games are themed to fit in with the rest of the Chester and Hester area. Since the attraction opened it has not experienced any major changes.
