Plans for the creation of Gaston's Tavern were initially announced at the 2009 D23 expo. Gaston's Tavern finally opened to guests on December 6, 2012 <ref> http://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2012/08/07/be-our-guest-restaurant-opens-december-6-2012-in-disney-worlds-fantasyland/ </ref>. The quick service restaurant is themed to look like a "comfy lodge in the French countryside, <ref> http://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2012/09/a-sip-of-lefous-brew-from-gastons-tavern-in-new-fantasyland-at-magic-kingdom-park/ </ref>" and it features numerous tributes to Gaston and his hunting ability. Gaston's Tavern's menu is notable for its signature beverage "LeFou's Brew" (named after Gaston's sidekick), a frozen apple juice with a hint of toasted marshmallow, topped with passion fruit-mango foam <ref> http://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2012/09/a-sip-of-lefous-brew-from-gastons-tavern-in-new-fantasyland-at-magic-kingdom-park/ </ref>.
