The table service restaurant opened on the location previously , was originally occupied by La Cantina de San Ángel. In 2010, La Cantina de San Ángel closed for refurbishment, and its original building was demolished. Following One half of the renovations, building continued to be occupied by La Cantina de San Ángel reopened as , while the other half housed a new counter-service restaurant with outdoor seating, while La Hacienda de San Ángel opened as .
