In December of 2012 the rest of the Fantasyland Expansion (sans the [[Seven Dwarfs Mine Train]]) opened to guests. At the 2022 D23 Expo, Chairman of Disney Parks and Resorts, Josh D'Amaro. revealed a Blue Sky concept for a land "Beyond Big Thunder Mountain" <ref>https://www.wdwmagic.com/attractions/magic-kingdom/news/11sep2022-beyond-big-thunder-mountain-blue-sky-concept-revealed-for-magic-kingdom.htm </ref>. This potential new expansion of the Magic Kingdom would feature a new land inspired by Disney's Encanto and Disney-Pixar's Coco, as well as separate area dedicated to Disney villains. Because of the hypothetical nature of this expansion, details, or even a timeline, were not provided.
