/* Attraction History */
Pooh's Playful Spot originally opened on September 1, 2005, on the former location of part of the [[20,000 Leagues Under the Sea]] lagoon <ref> https://allears.net/magic-kingdom/poohs-playful-spot-fantasyland-magic-kingdom-archives/ </ref>. Taking its inspiration from Disney's Winnie the Pooh franchise, the new attraction was a large playground for young children. The outdoor play area was centered around 120 foot tree, at the base of which, guests could see and explore Pooh's house. In addition to this central locale, Pooh's Playful Spot also featured logs, honey pots, a tree house, and water fountains for young guests to play in.
Originally billed as a temporary attraction <ref> https://www.wdwmagic.com/attractions/poohs-playful-spot/news/02sep2005-pooh's-playful-spot-opening-day-photos.htm<ref/>, Pooh's Playful Spot remained open until April 11, 2010, when the playground was closed to make way for the 2010 Fantasyland Expansion <ref> https://www.wdwmagic.com/attractions/poohs-playful-spot/news/07apr2010-pooh's-playful-spot-set-to-close-on-april-11-2010.htm </ref>. At this time, Pooh's house (and the large tree that it was incorporated into) was moved to the entrance of [[The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh]] <ref name="yester"> https://www.yesterland.com/playful.html </ref>.
