==Restaurant History==
The Regal Eagle Smokehouse was originally announced on June 17, 2019, as a replacement for the [[American Adventure pavilion]]'s [[Liberty Inn ]] <ref name="announcement"> https://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2019/06/new-barbecue-restaurant-featuring-craft-brews-to-debut-at-the-american-adventure-in-epcot-later-this-year/ </ref>. At this time, the attraction was described as:

As part of the restaurants restaurant's redesign, the Regal Eagle Smokehouse was given an outdoor bar and expanded exterior seating, as well as a remodeled dining room<ref name="announcement"/>.
On January 3, 2020, Disney announced that the the Regal Eagle Smokehouse would be named after the Muppet's Sam the Eagle an given a Muppet theme <ref> https://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2020/01/new-regal-eagle-smokehouse-coming-to-epcot-takes-its-inspiration-from-the-honorable-sam-eagle/</ref>. Furthermore, Disney released that the restaurant's signage would prominently feature Sam the Eagle's visage.

True to its name, the restaurant serves classic American BBQ dishes from all over the country.

==Backstory==
According to the Regal Eagle's Smokehouse's backstory, the restaurant has been chosen by Sam the Eagle for his "Sam's Centennial Cook-Off: A Salute to All Cook-Offs but Mostly Barbecue", which has brought barbecuers from all of America's various regions to compete for the top honor. The event is advertised within the restaurant as "A Competition Fit For Patriots and Pit Masters".
