The roots history of Rock ‘n’ 'n' Roller Coaster began in 1990, with the addition of early 1990s when the [[Sunset Boulevard ]] expansion to the [[of Disney-MGM Studios]]was being planned <ref name= "Martin"> http://www.martinsvids.net/?s=Rock+%27n%27+Roller </ref>. The original designs for the expansion featured seven different plotssections, which were to be used with one section being earmarked for a variety the addition of attractions, eventually including a roller coaster<ref name= "Martin"/>. Disney Imagineers began working on eventually came up with the new coaster (originally titled idea for "Rocking Rollercoaster) in the mid-1990s". One of the early concepts The original track layout for the attraction had the roller coaster track actually looping called for guests to loop over World Drive.Eventually however, this Idea was unused<ref name= "Martin"/>. Construction on Rock N Roller Coaster began in early 1998, with the track being completed in June<ref name= "Martin"/>.
