On January 4, 2016 Soarin' Over California was closed to make way for Soarin' Around the World. At this time, a third theater was added to the attraction, and the existing projectors were updated <ref> http://www.wdwmagic.com/attractions/soarin/news/19oct2015-epcots-soarin-closed-for-first-half-of-2016-for-refurbishment.htm </ref>.
