The preshow begins with guests being recruited by the The Grand Councilwoman, to be guards for the Galactic Federation. Guests are then ushered into the next room, where "Sarge" briefs guests about their duties. Sarge is a Prisoner Teleportation Officer (number 90210), who explains to the recruits that there are two types of prisoners. Type one prisoners are common criminals. An example of this type of prisoner is shown, captured in a tube on Sarge's right.  The second type of criminal is a more serious or repeat offender. While Sarge is giving his briefing, he is alerted that a level two prisoner is being teleported in. A captured furry alien is seen on the screen above Sarge and then teleported into the tube on his right. Sarge explains that this animal continues to steal and eat all the doughnuts he can find.

At this point Captain Gantu appears on the screen, interrupting Sarge. He tells him that a level 3 prisoner is being sent to the Center. Sarge is taken aback by this and begins to panic. He has never had a Level 3 prisoner before, and he is visibly upset. Gantu tells him that it is up to him and the new recruits (the guests) to guard this Level 3 prisoner. At the very thought of this, Sarge faints and Pleakley (from Lilo and Stitch) appears on screen and tells guests to enter the next room and prepare for duty.

When guests enter the main theater, they are seated in chairs that encircle a large prison tube. After being seated, harness lower and strap guests into their seats. The harnesses are themed to look like DNA scanners. After guests have been fastened into their seats, the level 3 prisoner is teleported into the tube in the center of the room. The prisoner is (as the attraction name suggests) none other than Stitch himself. As soon as Stitch arrives however, he begins to spit and make his escape from the tube. While escaping he also knocks out the power in the room, leaving guests completely in the dark.

The next portion of the attraction consists of Stitch roaming around an "terrorizing" guests. It feels to guests as if Stitch is behind them, walking around the room. Sometimes it even feels like he is messing with their hair or standing on their heads. At one point, Stitch steals a corn dog and then burps. A stench is released from each individual seat to help guests the full effect of this bletch. Also, when Stitch spits, water is sometimes sprayed on the guests, furthuring the illusion that Stitch is somewhere in the room.

Finally, after jumping on some more guests heads, Stitch makes his final escape and teleports out of the building. He can then be seen on television screen either piloting the [[Astro Orbiter]] or entering [[Cinderella's Castle]]. At this point, Captain Gantu decides their is no more that guests can do, and he releases them from their chairs.

Attraction History

Stitch's Great Escape opened on November 16, 2004. The attraction replaced the ExtraTERRORestrial Alien Encounter which closed in 2003. Stitch's Great Escape, like the ExtraTERRORestrial Alien Encounter, is a theater in the round attraction. If fact, the theater and many of the special effects (and animatronics) that are used in the attraction, were also used in its predecessor.

Attraction Plot

Stitch’s Great Escape! takes place before the events of the movie Lilo and Stitch. In the attraction, guests have been recruited as guards for the Galactic Federation, and it is their job to keep an eye on Experiment 626 (Stitch).

Preshow

The preshow begins with guests being recruited by The Grand Councilwoman, to be guards for the Galactic Federation. Guests are then ushered into the next room, where "Sarge" briefs them about their duties. Sarge, is a Prisoner Teleportation Officer (number 90210), who explains to the recruits that there are two types of prisoners. Type One prisoners are common criminal (an example of which is shown, captured in a tube on Sarge's right). The second type of criminal is a more serious or repeat offender. While Sarge is giving his briefing, he is alerted that a level two prisoner is being teleported in. A captured furry alien is seen on the screen above Sarge and then teleported into the tube on his right. Sarge explains that this alien continues to steal and eat all the doughnuts he can find.

Main Show

When guests enter the main theater, they are seated in chairs that encircle a large prison tube. After being seated, a harness (which is themed to look like a DNA scanner) lower and strap guests into their seats. The prisoner (as the attraction name suggests) is none other than Stitch himself. As soon as Stitch arrives however he begins to spit and make his escape, while also managing to knock out all of the power in the room.

Now in complete darkness, guests are told to stay where they are, and not to let the prisoner out of their sites. This proves to be difficult however, as the room is in complete darkness and Stitch has clearly escaped. The next portion of the attraction consists of Stitch roaming around and "terrorizing" guests. It feels to guests as if Stitch is behind them, walking around the room. Sometimes it even feels like he is messing with their hair or standing on their heads. At one point, Stitch steals a corn dog and then burps. A stench is released from each individual seat to help guests get the full effect of this belch. Stitch however, is able to manipulate the cannons and have them fire at the guests and even at each other. Finally, after jumping on some more guests heads, Stitch makes his final escape and teleports out of the building. He can then be seen on television screen either piloting the Astro Orbiter or entering Cinderella's Castle.
