Attraction History
Stitch's Great Escape opened on November 16, 2004. The attraction replaced the ExtraTERRORestrial Alien Encounter which closed in 2003. Stitch's Great Escape (like the ExtraTERRORestrial Alien Encounter) is a theater-in-the-round attraction. If fact, the theater and many of the special effects and Animatronics that are used in the attraction were also used in its predecessor Cite error: Invalid <ref> tag;

- The Stitch Audio Animatronic was the first Animatronic to ever spit [1].
- The Stitch Audio Animatronic stands 39 inches tall.
- The alien language used throughout the Prisoner Teleport Center was inspired by designs from the opening scene of Lilo and Stitch [2].
- The plasma cannons were also inspired by the movie.
