The Sunset Ranch Market is a collection of quick service stands on Sunset Boulevard in Disney's Hollywood Studios.

Description

The Sunset Ranch Market is based on a real (and the original) Farmer's Market at the corner of Third and Fairfax in Los Angeles, California. Initially consisting of local farmers, who sold their goods out of their vehicles, wooden stalls were eventually erected for rent. The Sunset Ranch Market features similar stands, where guests can buy a variety of foods.

History

Opening with the rest of Sunset Boulevard on June 12, 1994, the Sunset Ranch Market originally consisted of three quick service stands: Rosie's Red Hot Dogs, Anaheim Produce and Catalina Eddies [1]. Later editions to the market included Sunset Ranch Turkey Legs in 1998 [2] and Fairfax Fries (which served McDonald's French fries) in 1998 [3]. The next year, on August 23, 1999, Hollywood Scoops (an ice cream shop)opened [4].

In 2001, Toluca Legs turkey Company replaced Sunset Ranch Turkey Legs [2]. Next, on March 14, 2009 Fairfax Fries closed, due to the end of the strategic partnership agreement between McDonald's and Disney [3]. Following the closure of Fairfax Fries, Toluca Legs Turkey Company relocated to the fry stand's former location. Subsequently, a new stand named Fairfax Faire opened in the former Toluca Legs Turkey Company Location [3].

On August 1, 2016, Toluca Legs Turkey Company closed. Two days later, a new stand called Sunshine Day Cafe opened in its place[5].
