History

Tamu Tamu Refreshments opened with the rest of Disney's Animal Kingdom on April 22, 1998 ^[1]. Originally offering guests sandwiches and other entrees for lunch and dinner, on May 1, 2015, the restaurant changed its menu, so that it now offers snacks and refreshments only ^[2].

Fun Facts and Trivia

In May 2014, Tamu Tamu Refreshments began offering Dole Whips ^[3].

On the wall behind the Tamu Tamu Refreshments, guests can find a "hidden Baloo" ^[4].

Outside of Tamu Tamu Refreshments, if guests look down they can see the foundation of a demolished ancient building ^[5].

Fort Harambe, a secluded seating area, can be found behind Tamu Tamu Refreshments ^[6]
