The history of what would eventually be known as The Barnstormer Featuring Goofy as the Great Goofini began in 1988 with the creation of Mickey’s Birthdayland, a new temporary land in the Magic Kingdom. Within Mickey’s Birthdayland a petting zoo known as Grandma Duck's Petting Farm could be found , where guests could interact with various animals housed within a large barn. When the land was replaced with Mickey’s Toontown Fair in 1996, the barn that had once been a part of Grandma Duck’s Petting Farm was incorporated into a new, small steel roller coaster called "The Barnstormer at Goofy’s Wiseacre Farm" .
The Barnstormer (as most fans called it) was a one minute, gentle roller coaster that allowed guests to board Goofy’s self-designed “Multiflex Octoplane” (an airplane), and follow a flight path that he had previously flown . Along the way , guests would twist and turn, and even go “crashing” into a barn at full speed. In keeping with the rest of Mickey’s Toontown Fair, The Barnstormer at Goofy’s Goofy's Wiseacre Farm had a rural theme to it .
Throughout its history, The Barnstormer at Goofy’s Wiseacre Farm did not experience and major changes. At the 2009 D23 Expo however, it was announced that all of Mickey’s Toontown Fair would be replaced as part of the Storybook Circus expansion of Fantasyland. At this time it was further explained that The Barnstormer at Goofy’s Wiseacre Farm would be rethemed in order to tie in with the rest of Storybook Circus . On February 1211, 2011 the attraction closed along with the rest of Mickey’s Toontown Fair .

Fun Facts and Trivia
The Barnstormer at Goofy's Wiseacre Farm
* The chickens located inside the barn on the original Barnstormer were originally used in the traffic jam scene in the World of Motion at Epcot .
* A portrait of Goofy flying into the water tower could be found at Minnie House, which was located across the street in Mickey's Toontown Fair .
* The phrase "An Acrobatic Skyleidoscope" is a reference to the EPCOT Center daytime show that ran from 1985 until 1987 in the World Showcase Lagoon .
* The second reference involves the small sea gulls that can be seen flying away in the top right corner of the billboard. These are a subtle nod to the sea gulls which were found in the various scenes within the closed Tomorrowland attraction If You Had Wings .
* The back side backside of the Barnstormer's new attraction sign, makes it seem as if the boards that make up the sign were previously used in The Barnstormer at Goofy's Wiseacre Farm's entrance sign <ref> Yee, Keven.
