/* Overview */
Tomorrowland is a land inside the Magic Kingdom
Overview
Although not yet complete, Tomorrowland opened with the Magic Kingdom on October 1, 1971. When the land opened it featured three attractions- the The Grand Prix Raceway, Flight to the Moon and the Skyway to Fantasyland (America the Beautiful would open shortly afterwards on November 25). Although the land was still under construction, it was billed as a look into the future of the space age. In 1975, Tomorrowland was finally completed with the additions of Space Mountain, Star Jets (later renamed Astro Orbiter) the WEDway People Mover, and the Carousel of Progress being added.
Between 1975 and 1994 Tomorrowland experienced mostly relatively “minor” renovations. In 1975, due to the fact that Flight to the Moon was becoming dated, the attraction was re-branded Mission to Mars. The attraction If You Had Wings also went through a series of sponsor and name changes- Becoming If You Could Fly, Delta Dreamflight, and Take Flight, before finally closing for good in 1998.
