Attraction Summary [2]

Backstory

According to the backstory of Chester and Hester’s Dino-Rama, Chester and Hester initially owned a small gas station near the main highway. Their lives changed however, when in 1947 amateur fossil-hunters found dinosaur bones in the area. Shortly after the find, scientists and grad students flooded the area and the Dino Institute was founded. In order to capitalize on the archaeological find, as others around them had, Chester and Hester began to sell souvenirs at their gas station. After realizing that they were making more money selling merchandise then gasoline, the couple decided to turn the gas station into a shop called "Chester and Hester's Dinosaur Treasures".

Further capitalizing on their success, Chester and Hester eventually decided to erect an amusement park across the street from their store. It is at this amusement park, “Chester and Hester's Dino-Rama” that guests can find TriceraTop Spin.

Description

TriceraTop Spin is dinosaur themed hub a spoke attraction that allows guests to soar over Chester and Hester's Dino-Rama. Each dinosaur holds four guests. Guests seated in the front row can move the Triceratops backwards and forwards by using a joystick. A joystick in the back seat allows guests to move the Triceratops up and down. The dinosaurs themselves soar alongside comets. After the 1:30 minute flight, guests land and disembark.

Fun Facts and Trivia

  • The Triceratops vehicles are designed to resemble tin tops [2].
  • Chester and Hester used an old license plate for the attraction's exit sign [2].
