The restaurant's creation came out of an agreement between Disney and Mcdonalds which allowed Mcdonalds to sell their fries in select locations in Walt Disney World, with one of those locations being a new stand in Frontierland. Frontierland Fries sold Mcdonalds fries and chicken nuggets along with other refreshments.  The contract signed by the two lasted for ten years, and when it ran up in 2007, the parties chose not to renew it.
