The Plaza Restaurant is a table service restaurant on Main Street USA in the Magic Kingdom
History
What today is known as the Plaza Restaurant was originally a part of the Plaza Ice Cream Parlor when the Magic Kingdom opened on October 1, 1971 [1]. From 1971 until 1976 the restaurant featured an ice cream parlor and a seating area [1]. In 1977, the restaurant was divided in two, with the parlor and seating area each becoming their own entities [1]. At this time, the seating area portion of the establishment was converted to a restaurant named "The Plaza Restaurant".
Since the Plaza Restaurant opened it has not seen any major changes.
