History

Original Concept

When Walt Disney and his Imagineers originally created the concept for the PeopleMover, they saw it as the transportation of the future. The concept called for a series of trains that guests would sit on, which would follow a guided track. When eventually put into practice, Disneyland’s PeopleMover also used Goodyear tires, with their own motors to propel the trains along the tracks.
