The Discovery Island Trails, are lush walking trails that wined around the base of the Tree of Life. The Trails feature  landscaped pathways, wooden bridges and cave like tunnels. The exhibits on the trails can be viewed in any sequence. The Discovery Island Trails were known as the  Safari Village Trail until late 2000, when the  name of the entire land changed from Safari Village to Discovery Island.

Fun Facts and Trivia

  • When the park first opened, what currently constitutes as the Discovery Island Trails was actually two attractions, the Safari Village Trail and the Tree of Life Gardens. By late 1998 however the Tree of Life Gardens were incorporated into the Safari Village Trail.
  • The otter exhibit found on the Discovery Island Trails, contains 67,000 gallons of water.
