Although the attraction was not expected to open until 2020, the addition of the Ratatouille attraction necessitated the expansion of Epcot's France pavilion.

On November 17, 2018, Disney announced that the new attraction would titled Remy's Ratatouille Adventure. Although originally intended to open in 2020, Remy's Ratatouille Adventure was eventually pushed back to coincide with Walt Disney World's 50th Anniversary. On March 9, 2021, Disney announced that the attraction would finally open on October 1 of that year. True to their word, on October 1, 2021 Remy's Ratatouille Adventure officially opened.

Attraction Plot

Remy's Ratatouille Adventure begins with guests being shrunk down to the size of a mouse and boarding their "ratmobiles" As the ride vehicles begin to move, Remy and Chef Gusteau banter back and forth about what meal they should serve riders, before finally settling on their famous Ratatouille dish. As the duo makes their decision, Remy and the riders fall through a roof glass- pane and find themselves on the restaurant's kitchen floor. At this point, a chase sequence begins with Remy leading guests (and the other rats) away from the cooks who are trying to catch the group. Passing under the into the kitchen's walk in cooler, guests can see their rat compatriots eating the restaurant's food. Next, the group is knocked under and under the kitchen's oven before scurrying into the restaurant's dining room.

When the restaurant's patrons realize that herd of rats is loose in the dining room, a riot occurs. A this point, Chef Skinner attempts to capture the rats, while Chef Linguini helps the group escape into a nearby vent. Although seemingly a safe haven, guests' escape is contested by an angry Chef Skinner who tries to grab the rats through the vents. Eventually, the group finds sanctuary in Remy's kitchen where the Ratatouille promised at the beginning of the attraction is being prepared.

After being knocked back by the opening of a champagne bottle, guests find themselves at a party, hosted by Remy, where all of his rat friends are enjoying a feast. As the attraction's characters bid farewell to guests, the Ratmobiles reach the unloading area, ending the attraction.
