==History and Layout==
==Pavilion History The Morocco pavilion was one of the countries planned for World Showcase, dating back to 1977. Although the pavilion did not open until 1984, construction on the pavilion began in 1982. One Epcot’s opening day, Moroccan themed bathrooms were located in the pavilions future site, and Layout==by lite 1982 work had begun on the rest of the pavilion. The official groundbreaking of Morocco began in 1983, with the pavilion opening on September 7, 1984.
===Original Designs Morocco holds the distinction of being the only pavilion sponsored by it’s home countries government. In fact, the King of Morocco (King Hassan II) sent craftsmen and Changes===artists to help Disney Imagineers design the pavilion. Since Islamic religion prohibits the artistic depiction of live objects, the decorations in the pavilion were all decorated with geometric patterns. Like many cities in Morocco, the pavilion is divided into ville nouvel (new city) and medina (old city). The new city is located at the front of the pavilion, while the old city is located at the in the back. The "Bab Boujouloud Gate", which was inspired by a similar structure found in Fez, separates the two areas. Located in the ville nouvel is the pavilion’s gardens. One of the things that makes these garden’s unique, is that a working waterwheel (located on the lagoon) brings the gardens water. The new city part of the pavilion is also home to the Koutoubia Minaret. The largest structure in the pavilion, the minaret is a replica of the Koutoubia Mosque Minaret found in the city of Marrakesh. At one time, guests could visit the Center of Tourism in the Moroccan pavilion. Here, guests could obtain vacation planning literature and even book flights on Royal Air Maroc, the official airline of Morocco. This area has since been replaced by the counter service restaurant, the Tangerine Café.
While After passing through the France pavilion was also going to be a part of World ShowcaseBab Boujouloud Gate, guests will notice a change in the pavilion’s design . Instead of the broad streets and ordered building placement of the ville nouvel, the medina is much more narrow and layout changed many timeswinding. When The majority of the pavilion opened in 1982medina is taken up by the pavilion’s marketplace. Here, it featured guests can purchase all sorts of authentic Moroccan merchandise. In the widescreen film marketplace guests can also find the pavilion’s Kidcot station, Impressions de Francewhere they can get there Epcot passports stamped. Early deigns for .Although the theater, show that at one timemarketplace is themed to look like it is outdoors, the theater entire area is covered by a well hidden roof. This was going done to be roundprotect both guests and the merchandise from Florida’s elements. This means If guests pay close attention, they may notice that Imagineers may have originally intended produced the film to be a CircleVision 360 film (although this in unconfirmed). According Richard Beard’s book, Walt Disney’s EPCOT: Creating smell of incense and the New World sound of Tomorrow, rural animals in the pavilions layout changed drastically before the pavilion marketplace. At one time, plans for the ==Shopping==The Moroccan pavilion called for the creation of an animated map. Guests would be able to push features a button on the map to learn about what was happening in the countries various regions. Also planned but never built, was an exposition hall based on Parispavilion' Les Halles. Originally the hall would have held displays of the different provincial regions and serve as an information centers marketplace.
===Layout and History Since Opening===The France pavilion opened with the rest of World Showcase on October 1, 1971. The pavilion is themed to look like Paris, between the years 1871–1914. In France this period is known as Belle Époque (beautiful age). The back of the pavilion incorporates the small towns and provinces in France, in the form of “Le Petite Rue” a small and quaint street. When the France pavilion originally opened, it featured two table service restaurants: Les Chefs de France, '''Medina Arts'''- This shop offers traditional ceramic Tajine and Au Petit Café. Both restaurants proved to be extremely popular, and due to demand, the Bistro de Paris was built. The new table service restaurant was constructed on the second floor of the Les Chefs de France restaurant, replacing the office buildings that were previously housed there. Another change to France’s restaurants came in 1997, when Disney decided to merge Au Petite Café with Les Chefs de France. The restaurant reopened as an expanded version of Les Chefs de France later that yearceramic plates.
The French pavilion is also home to the Impressions De France movie. The attraction is held in the Palais du Cinema, which was based on a theater in Fontainebleau.
