Alien Swirling Saucers[edit]

Alien Swirling Saucers is an attraction located in Toy Story Land at Disney's Hollywood Studios

History[edit]

Alien Swirling Saucers (as well as the rest of Toy Story Land) was originally announced on August 15, 2015 at the D23 Expo. At this time, Disney described the "Alien saucer attraction" as "famous little green aliens from the movie will take guests around for a spin in their very own flying saucers." Eventually, it was noted that the new Alien attraction would use the same ride system as Disneyland's Mater's Junkyard Jamboree [1].

While much of Toy Story Land changed during the land's development, Alien Swirling Saucers remained essentially the same (Unlike Slinky Dog Dash).

Alien Swirling Saucers officially opened with the rest of Toy Story Land on June 30, 2018 [2]. Since opening the attraction has not seen any major changes.

Ride Premise and Description[edit]

The general premise of Toy Story Land as a whole is that guests have been shrunk down to the size of a toy, and they are now exploring Andy's backyard. The backstory of Alien Swirling Saucers in particular, is that guests are boarding a play set that Andy won at Pizza Planet. As guests ride behind them in their rocket ships, Little Green Aliens whip them around in their flying saucers, as "The Claw" hangs overhead.

After boarding their rocket ships, guests whip and spin around for 85 seconds while electronic music from the Toy Story franchise plays.

Fun Facts and Trivia[edit]

  • Alien Swirling Saucers' queue is made out of packaging from Pizza Planet toys and Buzz Lightyear play sets.
