Living with the Land Peter Pan's Flight is an attraction within located in The Land pavilion at EpcotFantasyland.
Attraction History
The history Like many of what would eventually be known as Listen to Walt Disney World's opening day attractions, the Land history of Peter Pan's Flight began when Kraft announced that it would sponsor The Land pavilion in the early 1950s as an idea for a Disneyland attraction. In 1954 Disneyartist Herb Ryman created concept art for a Peter Pan attraction planned for Disneyland's unbuilt theme park EPCOT CenterFantasyland. InitiallyIncluded in the art were a Mermaid Lagoon scene, Disney had expanded the concept of the "ecology and mineral pavilion" so as well as a large rainbow that it focused on the many environments of the earth was never used. . When the original sponsor of the pavilionIn August 1954, Imagineer Marvin Davis completed a logging company, ended its involvement, design for the theme and content of the pavilion once again changed . In September 1978attraction, Kraft agreed to sponsor the pavilion, and thus agriculture and food became The Landwhich now included scenes showing Hangman's focusTree and Crocodile Creek. In order to showcase agriculture, Imagineers created an open top boat This ride that would take plan also had guests flying through openings in the earth's many habitats, while showing man’s effect on them. Still inside their boat, the second half face of the attraction would allow guests to tour a working greenhouse that showcased new agricultural technologies and techniques Skull Rock. During the initial creation of the attraction, Disney had planned to create the "Living Laboratories" where food from around the world would be found growing.. This idea was later slightly modified. During Of note is the development of Listen to fact that in both Davis and Ryman's plans, the Land, two major changes took placeships that guests rode in moved counterclockwise. The first was This is the fact opposite direction that the greenhouses were added to ships would move when the attraction permanently (as opposed to being the temporary structures they were originally envisioned as). The second change ride was the addition of a canopy to the boats themselves. When Imagineers decided to add real rain effects to the attraction, the boats were given coverage actually constructed . Listen to the Land opened with the rest of The Land pavilion on EPCOT Center’s opening day, October 1, 1982 .
Listen to Besides coming up with the Land remained largely unchangedride's general layout, until Nestle assumed sponsorship of the Land Pavilion in 1993. On September 27, 1993, Listen to the Land Marvin Davis was closed also responsible for refurbishment (the rest of unique ride system that the pavilion would also be systematically updated over the next year and a half)attraction used. During the renovation, the Symphony Instead of having the Seed opening scene was removed, and replaced with vehicles run on a new storm scene . Furthermoreground track, an automatic narration was installed for the first half of the attraction, and the ride's theme song "Listen vehicles were instead connected by a large rod to a track on the Land" was removed ceiling. FinallyBy late 1954, the Symphony of the Seed recap that concluded the original attraction was taken out and replaced with a collage of people test track and agriculture from all over the world. The "futuristic" growing methods showcased ride mock-up were created by Bob Mattey and other Imagineers in this final scene were moved to an earlier part of the ride. On December 10, 1993, Special Effects shop building at the attraction reopened as Living with the Land Walt Disney Studios .
Following the changes in 1993In early 1955, little of note changed Imagineers and artists Ken Anderson and Claude Coats were charged with painting the attraction until August 20, 2006and getting it ready in time for Disneyland's opening day. At this According to Anderson:{{Quotation| There wasn't timefor a lot of preliminary planning, we just went in there and did them! We had already done the feature films, so the look, the story, even the boat captains key scenes were removed from already thought out. Although very popular, initially Disney did not want to create a version of the attraction for the unbuilt Walt Disney World. Instead, Peter Pan's Flight was to be replaced by a Mary Poppins ride that took guests “flying” through various scenes from the movie . On July 29Eventually however, due to either the cost of creating the new attraction, or guest expectations for a Fantasyland that was similar to Disneyland, 2011 Chiquita Brands International announced it was decided to include an expanded version of Disneyland's Peter Pan's Flight in Walt Disney World . With this task in mind, in February 1971, Imagineers Bill Justice and Bill Martin completed drawings for the Magic Kingdom version of the attraction . Unlike the original Disneyland version where guests played the role of Peter Pan, in Walt Disney World's version guests would be sponsoring Living with fly over various scenes from the Land movie. To this end, Audio Animatronics of Peter Pan, the Lost Boys, various pirates, and Indians were created for the Magic Kingdom version of the attraction. Scenes featuring: Wendy reading to the boys in the nursery, Indians in their camp, and a climatic duel between Captain Hook and Peter Pan were also added to the new attraction. Also included in the Florida version, was Captain Hook's 48 foot pirate ship where the duel takes place <refname= "walt"/> http. One final difference between the two attractions is that unlike Disneyland's Peter Pan's Flight, the ride vehicles in Walt Disney World use an omnimover ride system similar to the one used in the Haunted Mansion . Peter Pan's Flight eventually opened on October 3, 1971, two days after the Magic Kingdom's grand opening . Although Peter Pan's Flight hasn't seen any major changes since it opened, the attraction did debut a new interactive queue on January 29, 2015. Following the refurbishment, the queue is now themed so that guests enter the Darling children's nursery. While going through the nursery, Peter Pan and Tinkerbell pay guests a visit as part of a strategic partnership with Disney.

While they loaded, riders could hear the attractions theme song, "Listen to the Land" playing in the background. The first scene in the attraction was known as the Symphony of Seed. As guests passed through, they could see lush vegetation and Audio Animatronic animals thriving. After exiting the rainforest, guests entered a desert.
