Following the opening of Stitch's Great Escape, the attraction proved to be unpopular with guests. Beginning in January of 2005, Imagineering began to alter the attraction in an attempt to make it more appealing. One of the first things that they did was have the Stitch Audio-Animatronic figure reappear just before the power is turned back on. Next, Imagineers added a new effect which allowed guests to see Stitch's shadow on the ceiling above them.
