Like [[Main Street USA]], guests enter the park and continue down the street in order to get the majority of the park's other areas.At the end of Hollywood Boulevard is Grumman's Chinese Theater, which houses the [[Great Movie Ride]]. Other points of interest on Hollywood Boulevard include the Hollywood Brown Derby and Starring Roles restaurants and a plethora of shops that are based on various Hollywood landmarks.  

===Early Development- Roger Rabbit Land===The area of Disney's Hollywood Studios that is today known as Sunset Boulevard, was initially earmarked to be a land based on When the 1989 Disney film “Who Framed Roger Rabbit?”. Known as “Roger Rabbit’s -MGM Studio’s opened, Hollywood Land” or “Maroon Studios” during its development, this new area would feature three new Roger Rabbit attractions: Baby Herman's Runaway Baby Buggy, Toontown Trolley, Boulevard housed The Great Movie Ride and a Benny an unnamed Disney character stage show about the Cab ride (which would eventually open movies in Disneyland as Roger Rabbit's Car Toon Spin) the original Theater of the Stars <ref name= "KorkisMGMmap"/>. Also located on Hollywood Boulevard on opening day were the Hollywood Brown Derby <ref> https://www.mouseplanetd23.com/10382a-to-z/hollywood-brown-derby-the/Who_Disappeared_Roger_Rabbit_From_the_Disney_Parks </ref>and Starring Rolls restaurants. As plans continued to developFinally, Imagineers the land also pitched housed the idea shops: Oscar's Classic Car Souvenirs, Movieland Memorabilia, Sid Cashuenga's One- of creating -a recreation -Kind, Crossroads of Hollywoodthe World, Mickey's Sunset Boulevard, with the Roger Rabbit attractions located at the end of the street (roughly where Rock n Roller Coaster is located today). This incarnation of Sunset Boulevard would have also included a working Red Car trolley that would transport guests down street Hollywood, The Darkroom, Cover Story, Celebrity 5 & 10, Sweet Success, Pacific Electric Pictures, Keystone Clothiers and Sights & Sounds <ref name= "KorkisMGMmap"> http://www.florida-project.com/images/guidemaps/ds/disney-mgm-studios-guidebook-1989-late-05.jpg </ref>.

Despite Outside of a series of changes to Hollywood Boulevard's shops and entertainment (see below), the fairly elaborate plans that Disney had for their Roger Rabbit areahas seen a relatively few number of changes. On May 2, problems quickly arose with 1993 the filmTheater of the Stars was closed in order to make space for the entrance to the Sunset Boulevard expansion (a relocated Theater of the Stars would open on Sunset Boulevard in 1994) <ref> http://www.studioscentral.com/column/why-its-there/theater-stars </ref>. On September 28, 2001, Disney constructed a 122 ft. Sorcerer's character rights between Disney and Amblin Entertainment Hat (who had partnered with Disney to create Who Framed Roger Rabbit?the magical hat that Mickey wore in the Sorcerer's Apprentice segment of Fantasia) in front of the Chinese Theater <ref name= "LouKorkis"> Mongello, Lou. These disagreements caused Disney to change gears when looking at Built as a Disney- MGM Studios expansionpart of the 100 Years of Magic celebration, the Sorcerer's Hat was originally built as a temporary structure. Instead Underneath the hat, guests could find interactive kiosks that taught them about the life of Walt Disney. Although Disney claimed the hat would be a Roger Rabbit areatemporary addition, the structure would eventually supersede the Earful Tower as the then Disney decided to focus on creating Sunset Boulevard -MGM Studio's primary icon <ref name= "LouKorkis"/>.

===Sunset Boulevard===Sunset Boulevard officially opened on June 12In January 2015, 1994. Set mostly in the 1940s, Sunset Boulevard is meant to represent HollywoodSorcerer's theater district <ref name= "Lou"/>. When the expansion first opened, the new land featured a relocated [[Beauty and the Beast Live on Stage]] as its only attraction <ref>.http://thisdayindisneyhistory.homestead.com/Jun12.html </ref>. Besides the popular stage show, in June 1994, the Sunset Ranch Market could also be found on Sunset Boulevard. This food area housed various quick service stands including: Rosie’s Red Hot Dogs (later Rosie’s All-American Café) , Anaheim Produce, and Catalina Eddies Hat was finally demolished <ref> http://www.florida-projectorlandosentinel.com/imagestravel/guidemapsattractions/ds/disney-mgm-studios-guidemap-1994-05.jpg </ref>. Housed in the Hollywood Tower Hotel, The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror takes guests into The Twilight Zone, where Chinese Theater as they drop looked down thirteen stories in the hotel’s haunted elevator. Also opening with the Tower of Terror, was the Tower Hotel Gifts shop.  The next addition to Sunset Boulevard came on October 15, 1998, when Fantasmic! opened to guests <ref> http://thisdayindisneyhistory.homestead.com/oct15.html </ref>. This nighttime spectacular and firework show had originally opened in Disneyland to rave revues in 1992. Although the show had to be altered for the Disney-MGM Studios, the show still proved to be hit with guests. In order to house Fantasmic!, the The Hollywood Hills Amphitheater, a 6,900 seat amphitheater, was constructed <ref> https://www.mouseplanet.com/guide/571/Walt-Disney-World/Disneys-Hollywood-Studios/Sunset-Boulevard/Fantasmic </ref>.  On June 29, 1999 Sunset Boulevard's newest attraction,[[Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Staring Aerosmith]], opened to guests <ref> https://d23.com/a-to-z/rock-n-roller-coaster-starring-aerosmith/ </ref>. This steel roller coaster takes guests on a hide speed journey through downtown Los Angeles. Set to the music of Aerosmith, Rock n Roller Coaster gave Sunset Boulevard a second E-Ticket attraction.  Since the addition of Rock 'n' Roller Coaster, Sunset Boulevard has seen a relatively few number of changes. In 2001, Toluca Legs Turkey Company replaced Sunset Ranch Turkey Legs <ref name= "tripod"/>. Subsequently, on March 14, 2009 Fairfax Fries closed due the termination of the agreement between Disney and McDonald's <ref name= "yester"/>. Following Farfax Fries closure, a relocated Toluca Legs Turkey Company opened in its place<ref name= "yester"/>.Next, a new stand named Fairfax Faire then opened in the former Toluca Legs Turkey Company location <ref name= "yester"/>. On August 1, 2016 Toluca Legs Turkey Company closed.
