When the pavilion opened, it featured one restaurant (the Rose & Crown Pub) and six shops: The Tea Caddy, the Queen's Table, the Biscuit Barrel, His Lordship, Pringle of Scotland and The Toy Solider .
The first change ==History==When Fantasyland was originally being designed for Walt Disney World, Imagineers decided that they did not want to simply make a recreation of Disneyland’s dark rides. Instead they wanted to replace the United Kingdom pavilion came in 1986Disneyland dark rides (Snow White’s Adventures, when the Biscuit Barrel became the Country Manor Peter Pan’s Flight, and Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride) with new attractions based on different movies . Although the shop’s name was changedImagineers came up with three new proposals for attractions- one based on Sleeping Beauty, its merchandise remained essentially one based on the same. Then, in the late 1980s the Country Manor was renamed the Magic Legend of WalesSleepy Hollow, and His Lordship was renamed Lords and Ladies one based on Marry Poppins . SubsequentlyDue to the additional cost and guest expectations it was eventually decided to recreate the Disneyland dark rides in the Magic Kingdom. According to Jim Hill, when Roy O. Disney about the plans for the new attractions he said:
The next major change in Fantasyland opened along with the United rest of the Magic Kingdom pavilion came on October 1, 1999, when Harry Ramsden Fish & Chips House opened 1971. The new restaurant was a counter service restaurant which (as its name suggested) specialized in fish and chips. Since Unlike the millenniumother lands of the Magic Kingdom, there have been two major alternations to Fantasyland took its inspiration from the pavilionDisney movies themselves. In The opening day attractions for Fantasyland were: Dumbo the early 2000’sFlying Elephant, Pringle of Scotland was renamed the Sportsman ShoppeMad Tea Party, Snow White’s Adventures, Mr. Then in 2006Toad’s Wild Ride, Harry Ramsden Fish & Chips House was renamed Yorkshire County Fish Shop Cinderella’s Golden Carrousel, the Mickey Mouse Revue, "it's a small world" and the Skyway to Tomorrowland <Refref> http://wwwthisdayindisneyhistory.florida-projecthomestead.com/imagesdisneyworldgrandopening.html </guidemapsref>. Within the next month, Peter Pan's Flight and the 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea: Submarine Voyage would also open , giving Fantasyland an astounding ten attractions by late 1971 .===Unbuilt Attractions===Although the pavilion was not home to an attractionUnlike Disneyland’s Fantasyland, which had more of a whimsical theme, the original plans for the United Kingdom called for an attraction to eventually be constructed for the pavilion. In Magic Kingdom’s Fantasyland took a July 1975 edition lot of Eyes and Ears noted that there was room for expansion behind inspiration from the pavilion, and thatEuropean villages where many of the Disney stories were originally written .
.
By 1978 however those plans seemed In the early 1990s, Fantasyland underwent a series of changes. In 1993, Magic Journeys was closed and replaced with The Legend of the Lion King. The new attraction used puppets, animation and special effects to have once again changedtell the story of Disney's The Lion King . Further change came to the land in 1994, as when the companies 1978 annual report noted that 20,000 Leagues Under the pavilion would feature a Sea: Submarine Voyage was closed. Although the exact reason for the attractions closure remains unclear, 20,000 Leagues was not closed due to lack of popularity. Instead it may have been closed because the ride was not handicap accessible, broke down frequently, had a British travelogue small max capacity and cost a lot to maintain. After the ride had closed the lagoon which housed the attraction remained empty until 2001 . Also in 1994, Snow White's Adventures was redesigned to be more like the filmit was based on . When Snow White's Adventures reopened it was renamed Snow White's Scary Adventures. The reason for the name change was that the attraction had often scared younger children and the Imagineers felt that some warning was necessary .Another opening day attraction closed in 1998, when Mr. Toad's Wild Ride was removed . Disney thought that a more known character would be better suited for the large building that housed the attraction . The ride was still popular however, and when news of the attractions closure spread, a “Save Toad” campaign was started . Despite the campaign Mr. Toad's Wild Ride closed on September 7, 1998 . The attraction was replaced by The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, which opened in 1999. Also in 1999, the Skyway to Tomorrowland was closed . The closure of the attraction came after a Disney World employee was killed while cleaning a platform on the attraction. Although Disney said that the accidental death had nothing to do with the ride closing , the Skyway would never open again.
Prior The former location of the 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea: Submarine Voyage finally began to Epcot Centerchange in 2001. A new attraction, Ariel's openingGrotto (a little Mermaid meet and greet) opened in the 20, Imagineers had new plans for 000 Leagues queue area . Then, in 2002 the Untied Kingdom pavilionFantasyland Theater was once again changed. Plans now called The Legend of the Lion King was closed and removed from the theater , thus paving the way for a Victorian building new attraction to be built open. The new attraction that was designed for the Fantasyland Theater, was a 3D show named Mickey's PhilharMagic. The film features Donald Duck traveling through many famous Disney movies looking for Mickey’s “Sorcerers Hat” (which he of course used without permission). Songs and characters from classic Disney movies also appeared in the pavilions rear show, including characters from: Beauty and the Beast, Fantasia, The Little Mermaid, The Lion King, Peter Pan, and Aladdin. Also getting a new attraction was the former 20,000 League Lagoon, which was transformed in 2005 into Pooh's Playful Spot . The building (new attraction was an outdoor play area for children which was going to be modeled after London’s lost Crystal Palace) would have housed a live comedy show eventually closed in 2010 . A description of the unbuilt attraction was given Also in 2010, another minor change came when Cinderella’s Golden Carousel was renamed the 1982 book “Walt Disney’s EPCOT: Creating Prince Charming Regal Carousel, although the New World of Tomorrow”ride remained the same .

He or she was then appointed "temporary ruler of the realm”. * The Storybook Circus part of Fantasyland can trace its roots back to Walt Disney himself. Walt loved circuses, and there were different plans for a circus in Disneyland dating all the way back to the 1950s. * A Pinocchio themed store named the Gepetto Shop was originally planned for Fantasyland. * New Fantasyland is home to a new DVC stand.
