History

When the China pavilion initially opened with the rest of EPCOT Center on October 1, 1982, there was no Chinese restaurant for guests to dine at [1] . This was remedied with the opening of The Nine Dragons Restaurant on October 12, 1985 [1].

In 2008, the Nine Dragons Restaurant underwent a major refurbishment, eventually reopening to guests on September 24 [2]. As part of the renovations, the red color scheme was replaced with a more modern, muted tone [2]. At this time, the restaurant also got an updated menu[2]. In celeberation of the "Year of the Monkey" in 2016, Nine Dragons Restaurant began offering new special items on their menu. This new menu will be available to guests until January 27, 2017 [3].
