Restaurant History
The Tortuga Tavern replaced the Mexican restaurant El Pirata y El Perico in February of 2012. Like it's predecessor, the Tortuga Tavern serves Mexican Food, and has a Caribbean theme. The Tortuga Tavern however, was given a new color scheme (of beige, turquoise, and clay red) and more pirate props (including broken chairs and rum barrel) in order to give it more of a pirate theme. In fact, Tortuga Tavern is designed to be direct tie in to both the Pirates of the Caribbean movies and the attraction from which they got their name sake.
