Nine Dragons Restaurant is a table service restaurant in the China pavilion within Epcot.
History
When China initially opened with the rest of EPCOT Center on October 1, 1982, there was no Chinese in the pavilion[1] . This was quickly remedied however, when the pavilion was expanded into an adjacent plot which was originally earmarked for a Denmark pavilion [2]. As part of the expansion, two new restaurants opened, the counter service Lotus Blossom Café on September 24, 1985 [2] and the table service Nine Dragons Restaurant October 12, 1985 [1].
In 2008, the Nine Dragons Restaurant underwent a major refurbishment, eventually reopening to guests on September 24 [3]. As part of the renovations, the red color scheme was replaced with a more modern, muted tone [3]. At this time, the restaurant also got an updated menu[3].
