Attraction History

While eventually a part of New Fantasyland, Princess Fairytale Hall was not initially included in the 2009 plans for the land’s expansion. Instead, Disney had originally envisioned individual meet and greets that would allow guests to "dance with Cinderella; celebrate Sleeping Beauty's birthday with the Good Fairies; or join Belle in an enchanting story performance in the Beast's castle library" [1]. When the Fantasyland Expansion was revised in 2011 however, Princess Fairytale Hall was included in the plans [2]. The new meet and greet location was to allow guests to meet Cinderella and Rapunzel, [3] as well as two visiting princesses that “might include Aurora, Snow White, Tiana, Jasmine or Mulan” [4]. In February 2012, Disney announced that Snow White's Scary Adventures would be closing On May 31 to make way for the meet and greet location [5]. Finally, on September 18, 2013, Princess Fairytale Hall opened to guests [6].

On March 14, 2014 Disney announced that beginning April 20, Anna and Elsa from the Disney movie Frozen would meet guests inside Princess Fairytale Hall [7]. On June 20, 2016, Aurora and Tiana replaced Anna and Elsa in Princess Fairytale Hall [8]. Disney had previously announced in April that the sisters from Frozen would be moving to a new permanent home in the Norway pavilion in Epcot [9]

On November 24, 2016, Princess Elena of Avalor replaced Aurora in Princess Fairytale Hall [10].
